Located in the middle of the Black Forest, Freudenstadt is an ideal starting point for minor and major discovery tours.
Small Black Forest towns worth seeing, interesting museums, castles and monasteries, secluded lakes and upland moors, mountains and idyllic valleys - many destinations are easy to reach from Freudenstadt.

Well known tourist roads like the valley road "Schwarzwaldtälerstraße", the spa road "Schwarzwaldbäderstraße" and the peak road "Schwarzwaldhochstraße" lead through Freudenstadt and are the starting point for tours through romantic valleys and to many sights. A large number of museums offer an insight into Black Forest traditions and revive ancient customs and craft. Historic castles and palaces can be visited on one's own or through guided tours.

Round trips and visits make you hungry. The Baden wine road (Weinstraße) and the asparagus road (Spargelstraße) invite you to culinary stops. You realize the proximity to France when reading the menu in restaurants and homely guesthouses seducing you to gormandizing and savouring their dishes.

Of course there is also a lot to discover for our little guests in our area. But our summer toboggan run, go-cart racing, a tour with the historic train "Achertalbahn", excursions to family leisure parks as well as the world's biggest cockoo clock, don't only make children's hearts beat faster.
