Freudenstadt and its six districts

The Health-and spa resort Freudenstadt has been major district town since 1988. Originally, the town had been planned for 3,500 inhabitants; today however their number has risen to about 24,000 and approximately 16,143 of them live in the core city. Freudenstadt is excellent for living, working and spending your holidays.

Top class restaurants and hotels, various shopping facilities and extensive leisure time - as well as cutural facilities offer an interesting infrastrucure to citizens and visitors. Freudenstadt has developed into a well-known middle centre in Northern Black Forest.

Kniebis - the village with the Black Forest character of Freudenstadt, highest district (alt. 950 metres) and winter sports El Dorado. With the only night time cross- country ski run with artificial snow in the northern Black Forest. Located in the heart of the Black Forest Nature Park Central/ North.

Zwieselberg - The sportive idyll in the centre of the Black Forest. Zwieselberg offers a diversified sports programme for all seasons.

Igelsberg - Adventure holidays and recreation for the whole family - holiday fun at any time of the year.

Musbach - Many visitors come to Musbach throughout the year as it is the home of the renowned ham smokehouse factory, Schinkenräucherei Wein. You should not miss the guided tour through the smokehouse.

Grüntal-Frutenhof - Perfect for a family holiday. Everyone feels at home - the kids play on the beautifully situated playground, while the adults enjoy cycling and going for walks in the countryside.

Dietersweiler - The hosts in Dietersweiler know very well how to combine tradition and modern recreation.

Wittlensweiler - offers ideal conditions for sporty holidays: (backstroke) swimming in the indoor swimming pool with mirrored ceiling, recreation in the sauna and a lot of exercise outdoors.
