Exploring Pleasures

Set at the very heart of the Black Forest, Freudenstadt is the ideal
point to begin (locally or slightly) expeditions. Woth seeing Black
Forest villages, interesting museums, castles and monasteries,
secluded lakes and moors, mountains and idyllic valleys - there
are many places worth to visit and easy to reach from
Freudenstadt.

Well-known tourist routes such as the Schwarzwaldtälerstrasse,
the Schwarzwaldhochstrasse and the Schwarzwaldbäderstrasse
make their way through Freudenstadt and are the starting point
for trips to wildly-romantic valleys and along mountain passes with
magical views and an abundance of things to look out for.
Numerous museums offer insights into Black Forest traditions and
bring old customs and trades back to life. Castles and forts, rich in
history, such as Burg Hohenzollern, can be toured either by
individual vistors or as part of a guided tour.

Tours and sight-seeing trips tend to whet the appetite. The
wine route and the asparagus route in Baden issue a particularly tempting invitation for a culinary stop. In the restaurants and cosy guesthouses the menus reveal that France is not far away and have an almost seductive appeal.

And our younger guests also love to go  exploring. Summer toboggan runs, go-cart fun, a ride with the historical Acher valley train, trips to family leisure parks and the largest cuckoo clock in
the world gladden the hearts of more than just the children.
